P2 Site Visit

P2 became the very first children to step inside the new Coldside Campus when they visited on Thursday 14th September.  After donning hard hats and high visibility vests they set off on a tour with staff from Robertson's Group who are building the new schools.  You can see more pictures in their class gallery.  There will be opportunities for more visits for other classes as the build progresses. Robertson's will be coming into school during the year to work with all the children on some exciting building projects.

This Festival for P5-7

On Friday 8th September Primaries 5 -7 visited This Festival.  They met games developers and designers from Abertay and UoD. They  played new and retro games from pinball machines to virtual reality.  They heard talks from DC Thomson on the production of gaming magazines and from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design on animation degree courses.  You can see photos in the class galleries.

We would like to thank the organisers and Jenni McKay from DCC Digital learning for inviting us to attend.  It was a very enjoyable and informative morning.

Having prepared their entries for the competitions, P2 - P7 visited Dundee Flower and Food Festival at Camperdown Park on Friday 1st September.  They were delighted to find they had won prizes in several categories!

NASA visit Rosebank!

We were privileged to have a visit from a real life rocket scientist from NASA today.  Kevin Mellett is the Chief of the Moscow Technical Liaison Office between mission Controls in Moscow and Houston. Kevin enthralled the children with his talk on space exploration, the International Space Station and the planned missions to Mars.  Afterwards the children asked many, many amazing questions which Kevin answered.

Many thanks to John Smith for arranging Kevin's visit to us today.  We are sure when the manned missions go to Mars in 2030, Rosebank children will remember this day!
