New school site visit.

The P5 children visited the Coldside Campus site on Friday to see the progress being made on the new school.  They were shown round by Aurthur Walker the site manager for Robertson Group. You can see more photos from the visit in the P5 class galleries.

Farewell to Mrs Stanfield

Today we said our goodbyes to Mrs Stanfield who leaves us to start a new job nearer her home.  Each class paid tribute at an assembly and we presented gifts made by every child.

Tomorrow (Thursday 18th May) we welcome Mrs Lesley-Anne Weir from St Joseph's RCPS as our Acting Head Teacher, while the recruitment of a new Head Teacher for Rosebank takes place.

Games Jam 2017

We are delighted to have been judged 1st place winners in the Dundee Primary School's Games Jam for the second year in a row.

Our P7 pupils demonstrated their computing science skills of coding and graphics in a tense competition at Dundee University.  They had just two and a half hours to design, create, code and present a game with a Health and Wellbeing theme. Not an easy task! Congratulations to all who took part for their perseverance, team work, communication and problem solving skills, you are wonderful ambassadors for Rosebank!

Along with our prizes and the stunning golden trophy, the winning team will be having a tour of a real games design company before the end of term.

Leng Medal 2017

Congratulations to all the P7s who took part in the Leng Medal singing Competition.  Thanks to Mrs Sneddon who came out of retirement to help the children prepare for the competition.  Mr Sullivan had a very difficult job deciding which singer met all the criteria, as the standard was very high.  Maeve was the winner this year, many congratulations to Maeve and all the others for taking part.

Flags to Antarctica

P6/5 took part in Polar Network UK's Flags for Antarctica project and today received photos of their artwork in Antarctica!  The pictures designed by the class are being held by polar scientists working at the Halley Research centre. A great way to learn about the people who currently work in Antarctica as well as the continent itself.

Samba Performance

The P6/5 Samba Band who are coached by Ricky Linn as part of the Aspire Music Program performed for Dundee Head Teachers outside the Steeple on Wednesday.

Photos are in their gallery.  We are very grateful to Nauris Iraids for the professional photos of the event.

Another Digital Win!

We are very proud to be the winners of Digital Dundee Safer Internet Animation Challenge 2017!
Two teams from Rosebank entered the competition and were joint first prize winners in the Primary Schools category.  We have won a Zu3D animation kit for the school!

Dalguise Residential Trip March 2017

P7 have returned from Dalguise after a week of fun filled outdoor challenges from raft building to zip-lining, cat walk to abseiling.  You can see some more photos here.

Up wi' the bonnets!

As part of a project with V&A Dundee, Mrs Brown's class and a class from Our Ladys RCPS have been working with milliners to design and create 'bonnets'.  The Hilltown was traditionally the area of Dundee famous for its bonnet making, one of the Nine Trades of Dundee.

Today saw the culmination of all the hard work when the children modelled their creations on the catwalk in the Wellgate in front of a large crowd of well wishers.  Many parents also modelled as many bonnets were designed for them, so well done to all who braved the bright lights and the cameras!

It was a fantastic occasion and the children did their schools and themselves proud!  More photos in P5/4's gallery.
