NASA visit Rosebank!

We were privileged to have a visit from a real life rocket scientist from NASA today.  Kevin Mellett is the Chief of the Moscow Technical Liaison Office between mission Controls in Moscow and Houston. Kevin enthralled the children with his talk on space exploration, the International Space Station and the planned missions to Mars.  Afterwards the children asked many, many amazing questions which Kevin answered.

Many thanks to John Smith for arranging Kevin's visit to us today.  We are sure when the manned missions go to Mars in 2030, Rosebank children will remember this day!

Active Kids Outing

The whole school set off for Active Kids in Stanley by Perth on Friday 9th June for a day full of outdoor fun and laughter.  You can see more photos from the trip HERE.

Porridge!

You can see some photos from 'Porridge' in the School Show Gallery.  Congratulations to all who took part, the two performances were excellent!  Our thanks to the staff of the Music Centre for accomodating us, and to Mr McGregor for the technical help.

New school site visit.

The P5 children visited the Coldside Campus site on Friday to see the progress being made on the new school.  They were shown round by Aurthur Walker the site manager for Robertson Group. You can see more photos from the visit in the P5 class galleries.

Games Jam 2017

We are delighted to have been judged 1st place winners in the Dundee Primary School's Games Jam for the second year in a row.

Our P7 pupils demonstrated their computing science skills of coding and graphics in a tense competition at Dundee University.  They had just two and a half hours to design, create, code and present a game with a Health and Wellbeing theme. Not an easy task! Congratulations to all who took part for their perseverance, team work, communication and problem solving skills, you are wonderful ambassadors for Rosebank!

Along with our prizes and the stunning golden trophy, the winning team will be having a tour of a real games design company before the end of term.

Leng Medal 2017

Congratulations to all the P7s who took part in the Leng Medal singing Competition.  Thanks to Mrs Sneddon who came out of retirement to help the children prepare for the competition.  Mr Sullivan had a very difficult job deciding which singer met all the criteria, as the standard was very high.  Maeve was the winner this year, many congratulations to Maeve and all the others for taking part.
