Dalguise 2018

P7s took part in a week long PGL activity camp at Dalguise in Perthshire accompanied by Miss Rice and Mrs Sim.  They had an amazing time and represented Rosebank with excellent behaviour and attitude at all times.  All the instructors praised the group for their good lisening, team work and supportiveness.  They were also praised for having the tidiest rooms in the camp!

Well done P7!  Photos are available for the children to download from the network when in school.

Rosebank 2 : Our Lady's RCPS 0

The team beat Our Lady's RCPS 2:0 at DISC on Thursday despite very cold and windy conditions!  A great win to celebrate Mrs Sim's last game with the team and once again we need to thank Alan Duncan for not only transporting us to the ground, but refereeing the match!

Thanks also to Mrs Bruce and Miss Rice for their support, not forgetting Mr Sullivan! Well played everyone!

P1 visit to Stirling Castle

P1 had a fantastic day at Stirling Castle with Mrs Burke, Mrs Kilhooley, Mrs Sim and parent helpers.  They learned a great deal about castle life!

Football Matches

We played St.Ninians on Thursday 8th February 2018 and despite some great play in the second half, St Ninian's were the winners.  The team were once again commended by the oppostion for their excellent attitude and good sportsmanship.  Our next match is against Dens Road on Thursday 1st March.  Our home matches are played on the all weather pitch at DISC with kick off at 3:40pm.  Please come and support the team!

A huge thank you to Mr Sullivan our brass instructor, for acting as coach and manager at our matches again this year.  We are also indebted to Alan Duncan from Greylodge for not only driving the minibus to take us to matches, but being our home game referee as well!

P1 and P2 Nativity

Many thanks to everyone who came along to our Wriggly Nativity.  We had two wonderful performances and it was evident how much practice the children put in at home learning the songs.  You can see some photos on the class gallery pages.

Lieutenant Hugh McKenzie VC, DCM, CROIX de GUERRE

In our reception area is this plaque in memory of a very brave soldier who died 100 years ago today at the battle of Passchendaele in Belgium.  Hugh McKenzie was a pupil at Rosebank in the 1890s and you can find out more about this brave former pupil HERE.

Have a look at his memorial next time you are in school.

Joint playtimes with Our Lady's RCPS

As part of our transition to the new school campus we had our first joint playtime with the children and adults from Our Lady's.  It was a great success with the children making new friends and playing happily together.  Next time we will walk along to their playground for a play date!

P2 Site Visit

P2 became the very first children to step inside the new Coldside Campus when they visited on Thursday 14th September.  After donning hard hats and high visibility vests they set off on a tour with staff from Robertson's Group who are building the new schools.  You can see more pictures in their class gallery.  There will be opportunities for more visits for other classes as the build progresses. Robertson's will be coming into school during the year to work with all the children on some exciting building projects.

P4 at DUFC

P4 are taking part in Dundee United Football Club's Community Education project this year with eight sessions at Tannadice.  For an idea of the project you can see how the children of Den's Road Primary got on last year HERE.

Literacy, numeracy, health & wellbeing are all targeted with weekly visits to the club and a wide variety of activities.  See their class gallery for photos.
